What is a Kimpatorin?
A Kimpatorin (Yiddish) is a woman who has just given birth. For thousands of years, Jewish communities treated new mothers with special care. They were encouraged to rest, served delicious meals, and helped in every possible way.
Today, the Kimpatorin has officially disappeared. Women are discharged from the hospital just hours after birth, and are expected to care for their families and go back to work. All this comes at a price.
Women fall apart.
And the incidence of Post Partum Depression rises, causing great harm.
Kimpatorin Aid helps post partum women and their families – and ensures that they are physically and emotionally ready to meet the demands of their new baby.
A family dealing with Post Partum Depression is a family in crisis.
